GHSA - Around 60 high schools will field boys and girls varsity teams for the Spring 2010 season.  These teams compete in the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) for the official state championships.  Most of these teams are located in the Metro Atlanta area, but teams exist all over the state including Augusta, Columbus, Gainesville, and Newnan.  The high season starts in late February and runs through the end of April.

Because of the continued growth of high school Lacrosse in Georgia, the GHSA will change the alignments of the areas and will add a new championship division. Beginning with the 2009-2010 school year there will be Lacrosse championships (boys and girls) for schools in class AAAAA and for schools in classes AAAA/AAA/AA/A. This is the same format that is used in the sport of Swimming and Diving.

Each division leading to a championship will be composed of four areas, and the top four teams in each area will advance to the playoffs. There will be four rounds of playoff competition this year.  The championship matches will be held on May 14-15, 2010.
