2010 AJO4LAX Invitational Lacrosse Tournament Date Announced

Marietta, GA – The Andrew Oswald Memorial Fund, LTD., a Georgia non-profit and 501(c)(3) entity, will host its fourth annual AJO4LAX Fest on Saturday, March 27, 2010 at Pope High School Stadium (Lassiter HS field in the event of rain).The day-long tournament matches-up eight top Atlanta varsity lacrosse teams in back-to-back, to back-to-back action:
Harrison vs. St. Pius
Walton vs. Lambert
Lassiter vs. Westminster
Pope vs. Blessed Trinity
The AJO4LAX Fest honors the memory of Andrew J. Oswald, a Pope High School lacrosse standout who died in 2005 in a motor vehicle accident. Oswald wore jersey #4 playing attack for the Greyhounds from 2002-2004 and lacrosse was his passion. He was named Pope’s offensive MVP his senior year and he remains one of the top scorers in Pope's lacrosse history.
Gates at Pope HS stadium open at 9 a.m. with the first game getting underway at 10 a.m. Onsite activities also include concessions and raffle.
"The festival is a premiere invitational event that brings out the best not only in local high school lacrosse competition, but also the entire lacrosse community," said Bruce Oswald, Andrew's father and President of the Andrew J. Oswald Memorial Fund, Ltd.
Proceeds from the annual GHSA-sanctioned tournament go toward scholarships, grants to youth and high school lacrosse programs, as well as a partnership with Safe America in support of teen safe driving initiatives.
The fund awards a $1,000 per year scholarship to a graduating Atlanta area lacrosse player (boy or girl) who will continue playing at the college level. This year’s recipient will be named in May. Scholarship application forms are available at www.ajo4lax.com.
